Topics covered will include: Fiddling Clawhammer Banjo Clogging Fingerstyle Blues Guitar Flatpicking Guitar Clogging Contra Dance Old Time Singing Bluegrass A comment from one of last year's class participants: "...very informative intellectually and entertaining as well. This class opened my mind to new types of music and new musical groups." |
Contra Dances The saying goes, "If you can walk, you can contra." Every dance is guided by a skilled instructor/caller who teaches each dance, step by step. All ages participate---from kids to grandparents. No partner needed, as the dances are done in groups. Live music is provided by string bands (typically a fiddle accompanied by various other instruments). This is an incredibly fun way to experience "old time music"! |
